Affordable online Certificates, non degree, or advanced degree programs for finance/accounting professionals?

I have a bachelor degree in my field and over a decade of experience. I don’t really have the money to pursue a master at a school now. Are there free or cheap online programs I can take to demonstrate continued education in my field? I’ve taken some LinkedIn courses but I want something I can actually list on my resume. Thanks

Working with finance, it is very important for me to ensure the safety of both my and the client's funds. I decided to find an alternative to traditional banks that specializes directly in international money transfers. I started working with Silverbird https://silverbird.com/ , and this platform gives me everything I need for business - a multi-currency online account, fast and secure transfers and constant support from specialists.

I don't know if it's still available, but I highly recommend Harvard Graduate School of Business's HBR Online courses. They're around the $100 price range so affordable, and aside from the Harvard educational brand, the course I took in 2012 had some very valuable information on the subject matter.

As a professor at a non-profit university offering online and on campus degrees designed exclusively for working adults, I support Sarah’s comment on considering an online graduate degree. There are a variety of options and many employers offer tuition reimbursement benefits under federal tax laws. You can pace your courses to match that benefit. Let me know if I can provide you any support!

Carol - I am in my early 60s and don’t have a degree. I am now thinking of getting one, but it would need to be online since I still work. Do online schools allow for life experience options as well, so I would not need to start at ground zero?

Yes. My university provides credits for a wide variety of experiences, non-college courses such as military or industry certifications. All of our courses are online and last 6 weeks, 9 weeks or 12 depending on the subject matter. I'm happy to talk more - email me at [email protected]

I totally hear you on the expense of grad school! Have you looked into some of the online, self-paced programs? I really loved my grad programs at Western Governors University, and they're very affordable, plus if you have that much experience you should be able to accelerate to finish in far less than the traditional time span, saving even more money!
