Remote position
Hi everyone! I had worked for 15 years after college and then got married/had a kid right away. For almost 12 years now I've been home (with doing some real estate in between and another position that I only lasted 6 months). I have a background in purchasing and sales -most recently I worked as a sales manager in the inside sales department of a major corporation.
I'm having a difficult time finding a position from home (best for now as I have a traveling spouse and a kid going into middle school). I've been on all the remote sites, etc. Feeling like my age is an issue -I'm turning 50 on top of having this gap.
Also, trying to help a family member who lost their pharmacist job they had been with for 28 (!!) years with the same retail company as they didn't hit the quota for giving flu shots. This person is 51.
Feeling a bit nervous about the future...but positive too...

Finding a work is a large topic. Do you have a specific question(s)? One at a time might be easiest.
I don't think your age is the issue. Remote jobs are ridiculously competitive. They get hundreds of applicants. I'm sure this is obvious, but have you worked with a professional resume writer to position your 12 years out of the workforce? That's a long time so I think it's especially important to show that you haven't "lost" your work skills. Perhaps getting a certification would help? Just throwing out some ideas :) I hope you are able to find a great position that does allow you to work from home! Best of luck.
