Remote Resumes
Ladies,
Can someone tell me what the difference is between a resume and a remote resume? I've had my resume rewritten by 3 different writers and none of them could tell me the difference.
I would like to get a work from home remote job, for I'm use to working remotely whether it is from home or when traveling. I also had my computer and cell phone with me in order to take care of the customers needs. I dealt with people all over the world so I had to be able to work remotely to help them. As a purchasing and logistics manager you do what is needed to get the job done.
So how do you make your resume stand out for remote positions? Can anyone help me?
I want to go back to work as soon as possible.
Hi Lynne,
Thanks for the suggestions I will try them. I’ll keep you all posted.
Rebecca's suggestion to mention which positions were remote is an excellent one. You can mention it in parenthesis right next to your job title. Even if the position wasn't remote, you might state: Required remote skills.
Other than that, the biggest difference with a "remote" resume is that you include how you worked effectively in remote situations in order to achieve your goals. In other words, include these skills in your accomplishment stories, as well as in your list of skills/strengths.
You've already mentioned several skills, so you might already have this covered.
Hi Jillian,
I'll email over the three resumes for your review and my LinkedIn page is updated with the latest version of my resume. I've spend a fortune on getting resumes written over these past 6 months, I actually had it redone 4 times but never received the first purchase so I had to start over and over until I received one that looked better and more professional than the others. Thanks for looking them over.

Hi Shirley,
I am interested to see your three versions of resumes. There are no “remote resumes” but there are remote positions. Let’s take a look at your resume first.
If you’re interested in having a complimentary review of your resume. Email me at [email protected].
Also, you should also be using LinkedIn for your job search - can you send me information on your LinkedIn as well? Remote jobs are ALL OVER LinkedIn. And lastly, it might not be your resume, but rather the approach to the job search. Again, I am a certified resume writer + career coach with impressive results. I’d love to dig deeper.
Hello Jillian, I was wondering if I could send you my resume for a review as well? I think it needs work. Please let me know. Thanks!
Hi yes! Send it to [email protected]. I will send a video review in 1-3 days!
List in your skill set that you have experience working remotely. Then for those jobs mention it was a remote positions. I've noticed employers that are hiring for remote role what experience.
