Wouldn't send job description...then over vid chat, told me I wasn't right for the role ?
Today has to take the cake in my failed job search.
Hiring mgr, reached out to me for a vid chat. Upon requesting job description, he informed me, one wasn't available it we would discuss during the conversation.
He was late, & 15 min into the conversation, told me to stay in touch, however, I was not right for the role....
What the he!!?
worst, I'm stuck in a dead end job at a company I loathe & report to a lying bigoted sob.
Too angry for words. Tired of being stuck here! UGH!
sick of this job search, months, customizing cl, Rez, no responses save for rejections, no interviews...
Lost & pissed!
I'm sorry Lost. My last job was one I absolutely despised. But I wouldn't leave because I needed the money. I finally got laid off (along with 80 other people!) and while I was dismayed at the loss of money, I was overjoyed to be rid of that job.
Forgive me if you've already tried the things I'm about to suggest but... Have you looked into Indeed.com? I am hearing amazing things about this site. LinkedIn seems to be gaining traction when it comes to networking. Also, what about reaching out to a temp agency? Many companies will use a temp to see if they can find a good fit - with the intention of actually hiring said person full time.
I wish you all the best. And completely sympathize with your frustration.
Many thanks @quantjockey for the encouragement... after I cooled down & read your post, it makes sense.
Leveraging contacts is not progressing well. All too often I hear, "I don't have anything for you" or after following up after conversations, they 'ghost me' Co. recruiters who I have connected too may tell me to remain in contact but when I responses a job is filled..
In which FGB group, might I elicit helpful advice?
Again, thank you & be well.
?
That sounds like one of those fake jobs where they are just researching the market to see who is out there. That's not a reflection on your skills or your application. Carry on! Most people are reporting better luck by leveraging their professional contacts to hear early about good opportunities. How are you at doing that? There are some ace advisors on here if you need one...
