Human Services Field
I have been a stay at home for 2 years now due to staying home with my youngest (as he had been diagnosed with autism). I have set him up with therapies and going to an awesome preschool. I feel I am ready to go back to work now but have found it difficult getting employed. I have a Bachelor's in Human Services and have worked in the field for over 20 years. I am also bilingual English and Spanish. I don't know what else to do to make myself more marketable. Any feedback would be appreciated
I hope you have the bilingual skill high up on your resume. That's attractive to a lot of employers. It's a very tight market and that will help you stand out. Also, take off anything from your resume that speaks of your age, like graduation dates, and only put your last 10-15 years of experience on it. Seek out professional groups on LinkedIn in your field--there are sometimes posts there that don't make it into the job listings. What else, community? I know I'm forgetting stuff...
I do I just updated my Linked in profile and have update my resume for the past 10 years . Thank you for the feedback it's appreciated
With your skills I expect you will be all right...it's just slow as glaciers right now.
