In Search Of: 100% remote Accounts Payable, Staff Accountant Role.
I am an Accounts Payable Manager (Remote) for 2 companies in different states that are "merged" under 1 investing company. I have 18 years of accounting under my belt, mostly in full on Staff Accountant/ Senior Staff Accountant/ Corporate Accountant roles and have done everything in the scope of AP/AR/PR/HR/Office Admin in those years with the last 7 years focusing on AP.
I am concerned with the direction my company is going and I am seeing the signs of long term, GOOD, employees jumping ship either by retirement or by leaving for other jobs. There have been a concerning amount in the last 6 months.
I have also been job shopping and plan on doing the same thing as I am only seeing things getting worse now that they have decided to "un-merge" the companies after only a few years. (Speculation is that one of the companies is "dragging" the other one down in financials). The plus side is that I am to stay with the company that seems to be in a better position financially.
I have been actively looking and applying since this past summer with only 3 interviews (2 of them; I made it to the last round and then was ghosted, I am still in the rounds of the 3rd one now). My preferred position would be in the Accounts Payable field since that is where I have been comfortable with the full-cycle process for the last 7 years. But, always open to other opportunities and potential positions.
Is there a particular software you're an expert in? Many firms, for example Anderson Consulting- Netsuite, hire experts in those software ERPs to be staff on client roles.
I feel like you and I may have been employed by the same company up until a few weeks ago. Totally serious on that.
I have no specific advice for you but do wish you luck.
Interesting....what type of position did you hold? If you don't mind me asking?
