Looking back over my career, I have to say that I often stepped out of my comfort zone to move to the next level.
Though I am not a so called aggressive. I found ways to present myself to employers sometimes feeling scared in the moment but doing it anyway. You may feel unqualified but apply for the job anyway to let the employer tell you that you are not. I felt unqualified many times but I took a chance and applied. Long story short, I landed a couple jobs this way by making a good impression once I got to the interview. Or maybe send your resume to someone at a higher level in the company where you wish to work. Promote yourself in way that your resume gets in the hand of the hiring manager. I tried it and sometimes it works. Keep following your dreams to find your next job.I'm about to try this myself -- downsized two years ago and still looking. The worst thing people can do is chuck my email (I'd send actual snail mail, which I'm sure would stand out more, but am concerned about how people who are working from home are getting their mail.)
