I'm not sure anyone can help, but I'm kind of stumped.

I don't qualify yet for two particular positions: Child Care Worker and Bookkeeper. Child Care Worker I"m not pursuing right now. And I'm not trained yet for Bookkeeping, but I need to leave my Fast-Food Restaurant job. I can't get financially independent there. I didn't go to college, because I could have gotten the training I needed at a Vo-Tech School(not sure I could have gotten a scholarship like several of my siblings.) At least in my opinion.

What is it that you really love to do? What sparks you ? Excites you? Doesn't matter what field it is, you can always get training. Answer those three questions and you are half way there.

I like working on computers, Macs specifically, but I'm limited on what I'm willing to do professionally. Writing codes sounds exciting, but intimidating and complicated also.

You can absolutely break into an accounting role with no experience. Will take a bit of work, but block off 30 minutes or more, each day to do your research and update your information. First, do a LinkedIn profile and Make connections! There are plenty of videos, articles, and even here on FairyGodBoss, that can help you do this. Update your resume to reflect any type of accounting - did you do deposits there? Offer your services. Word your resume and cover letter to reflect ANY type of accounting - deposits, budgeting (even personal), outside activities, any classes taken. Take some free classes (especially on Excel) and attend free seminars. And most of all....Network/make connections. Let your contacts know that you are wanting to switch gears, very eager and would love any leads. Best of Luck!

I tried to reply to this message, but don't know where the post went. How do I find more connections on LinkedIn specifically? Look for people in the bookkeeping, accounting fields? What should I do on my LinkedIn Profile? I already took a bookkeeping course last August on LinkedIn, and I"m already familiar with Excel, but i have an old version.

Hi Theresa - just tried looking for your linkedIn profile, but didn't see it. Do you have one? If yes, then you can view my profile for some pointers on how to set it up to reflect Accounting and connect with me. www.linkedin.com/in/joanndalessandro02 Even though you do not have a lot of experience you want to highlight anything to do with this.....Deposits you have made at your current job (if you have not, then volunteer to learn and do), do you have a personal budget you maintain in Excel at home?, volunteer (maybe with the school PTO-Parent/Teacher, get around people or organizations that can help you with your goal). Go on LinkedIn and do searches and anyone you know in business, send them a Connect.....follow Ken Coleman, Brigette Hyacinth and especially companies where you would like to work. Everyday I spend at least an hour networking, researching, making connections, and doing free classes.

Not really sure what you are asking. If you are just trying to get out of fast food work, plenty of jobs offer on the job training. Retail, like walmart or grocery stores. Temp/employment agencies will send you on assignments for customer service jobs or office clerk type positions. Customer services jobs are in high demand right now.
