Best Routines
I recently read that highly productive people get their most important stuff done first... "creative work first, reactive work second." What are some of your best daily, weekly or even monthly routines that makes you feel you are reaching your goals?
For me, I just try to work on anything that requires un-interrupted time early because after 9 am, you never really know what life and work is going to throw at you. So I don't think of it as whether the work is "creative" or "analytical" or any other kind of work. But to make sure that stuff that requires concentration happens before the main work rush begins.
I have most of each day scheduled - down to exercise and when I check emails. I also joined a co-working space because if I don't go there to work, I get way too distracted with stuff at home. My non favorite tasks get done first.
I pick the thing I most don't want to do and get started on that first. It gets "the worst" out of the way, so I can look forward to everything else I have to do, and I feel good about doing something I was dreading!
Love this! When I get these dreaded task done, I often find they were not as bad as I thought they would be. That's also encouragement to the rest of the "worst" list!
