The "Perfect" Job
I've seen some recent posts where FGB members felt there is no such thing as the "perfect" job. While true, I also believe we must love what we do. Share what makes your job near perfect and how you know this is right career and role for you.
For me, I always ask myself - If I win the lotto jackpot, would I still be doing this? Often, that helps me understand if I'm just in it for the paycheck or if I'm truly loving what I do (and just financially stressed out).
I'm lost on what I really want to do at the moment. I'm a project manager, but at times I feel there is no real purpose to the role. I love that I'm not as stressed as I was in a previous role and the work/life balance has been amazing. I'm also really past the point to job hop. I'm almost 46 and although I look younger, it makes me nervous. Plus the salary that I make is really good where I'm at.
Thanks for sharing. I suspect many people are in similar situations. Sounds like this may be a great time to explore some outside passions or raising your hand for a stretch project without seeing it as a "next job" and just see where it may take you. It may even breathe new light into your existing role.
