I applied to an organization a few days ago, and today I receive an email from someone in Talent Acquisition regarding the status of my application. Yes, they will be moving forward with other applicants with regards to an interview, but I felt the need to reply. I responded to her email letting her know that it is very difficult to hear anything back on an application or to hear from a real person, and with that I thanked her.
I thanked her for taking time out of her day to type this email up and send it my way. I thanked her for taking the time to update me on the status of my application. I wanted to let her know that her response means a lot to me because we all know how challenging this time is right now, and to hear from a real person is very rare these days.
Yes, I did not get the interview; however, I am very grateful I got a response at all! I can only imagine how busy Talent Acquisition is when it comes to navigating new forms of interviewing, hiring, etc., and taking the time to send an email made my day.
Now that I think about it, receiving an email from a real human, even if it is a no, overrides my emotions of being bummed.
A huge thank you to everyone in a talent acquisition role who takes the time to respond to an applicant, I sincerely appreciate it.
