Software Engineer -> TPM -> ?
I started off my career as a Software Engineer (for 6 years), then realized I didn't love just being an IC, and moved into a TPM role (past almost 2 years), and I'm really not sure if it's for me. I'd love some combo of IC and PM, but not sure where that lands me.
I've considered switching it up and going into UX since I excelled at UI + working with the UX folks and have a background in Human Factors from my graduate research lab. Has anyone else made a move from Software into a career they love?
Hi @Bridget Johnson! If you're thinking about a certain career direction, I'd suggest pursuing the career exploration process. Then, you can start by leveraging networking to understand how people break into the career path, plan your next steps around what you learn in the process, pursue upskilling as necessary, and refresh your personal branding materials tailored to your new path. Hello. I might have some input. Alas, I'm stuck on the meaning of the acronyms you use.
Heck that's likely the point! L.O.L.
