HELP!!!
I have worked in the veterinary field, 9 of which were as a Veterinary Technician (non-certified) for the last 15 years. Most of this year I spent in and out of the hospital with one scary medical issue after another and, found out about 3 months ago I need to take blood thinners the remainder of my life. I was laid off 1 month later for that reason. It is no longer ideal, or particularly safe, for me to work directly with animals.
Soooo....I have been applying to all kinds of positions (mostly administrative) in the medical field so I can at least utilize my skills but have only had 2 callbacks and 1 interview in 2 months!! I have NEVER had this much trouble finding a job! It's never taken me more than 2 weeks. I understand that my resume needed to be tweaked for a different field and even signed up to have mine "graded". I was told what to change, words to use, words to never use, blah, blah, blah! STILL NOTHING!!
I am an intelligent, educated (though I did have to drop out of college with 2 classes to get my Bachelors in Biology....), have a ridiculous amount of medical knowledge and clinical skills pertaining to both humans and veterinary and loads of customer service experience! I'm at a loss! Anyone have this problem? Suggestions?
