Title Change Question

Hi all! I recently had to update my JD due to a title change (not a promotion) and taking on a new officer position at my company. This position was original meant to be posted as a separate position, but has now fallen under my JD. Should I receive additional compensation for this change? It is difficult for me to fully understand this considering all companies are under financial stress due to COVID and I don't want to cause even more stress by pushing the topic further. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

If you are being asked to take on additional responsibilities it is appropriate for you to ask for a raise. You can include examples of great work and this additional responsibility to make your case. A raise for you is cheaper than the entite compensation cost if they were to have to hire an additional employee to cover that responsibility.
