Asking for more money
Hi all. Three years ago I was hired into a fairly high level position, the first I’ve held at this level. I’m really knowledgeable in my field and feel this is a terrific fit for me. The problem is I accepted a semi low pay offer because I wanted to step up in my career and at the time was willing to take a pay hit. The industry standard for my position is significantly higher than what I make. I’ve requested a wage analysis (which is where HR recalculated the rate of pay based on industry and regional standards), but my CEO has to sign off to approve HR to do it and she’s essentially ignoring the request. How do I “push” this to get the pay I deserve? I’ve been a phenomenal employee for three years, and just want to be paid my worth.
Don't wait another 3 years! I had a similar experience. Someone took a chance on me and I was grateful, so I accepted a relatively low comp. The following year at evals, we had a great positive conversation about what I had accomplished and I received a 14% raise!!
There are a few ways to have this important conversation and I’d be happy to guide you through it. Schedule 15 minutes on my website cherylmagen.com
