Need Advice – At a Pivot Point
I am at a pivot point in my career where I want to assist people during the hiring, on-boarding, firing, and down-sizing time of their careers. I have experience managing people, teams and departments during the sourcing, hiring, developing, firing and even down-sizing stages, however, I have not held an “HR” position. How can I move into this area?
agree!^ Sounds like your experience is very "HR" and transferable you just didn't have an official title or rollup to that dept. No problem! That's mostly arbitrary and can be addressed. While it's handy to make purely lateral moves, at the end of the day, you're still qualified. You just need to get in the door to tell your story!

Your position may not have been in the HR department, but it sounds a lot like HR functions. Have your resume highlight those areas when you apply for HR roles. That will help!
