Looking for a new role with an unsupportive boss

Right now I have a manager who reacts poorly to people leaving the team for opportunities to grow their career. (the last four people who have left have shared horror stories). How best do I express this in an interview when interviewing for internal roles and being asked if my manager is aware that I'm looking. I have previously had the conversation that I'm looking for a new role, so that part is true, but I don't trust this manager to be positive. How do I address this dual challenge in a positive way?

good advice^! Also check your company's policy. In my experience, when looking internally, HR won't make you inform your manager until after the first round of internal interviews or exploration. Mostly bc if there is no mutual interest in moving forward, then why put your current boss on alert if you don't have that relationship? Often internal candidates get a courtesy interview of meeting even if it's not going to be a fit, so be sure to capitalize on making a new contact too.
