#Backstory- I was working in healthcare for 8 years before I did career change at 35 by doing an MBA.
Everything was going fine, till in 2019 my work authorization to work in US expired and till today there is no sign of it. I am stuck in a place where my husband has a good job that takes care of us, but I have lost 1.5 years of my career. Being Canadian I have been applying in Canada but with limited network and big work gap it is challenging. Plus now I am 41.
#Question - What I should or shouldn’t do on my resume to make it more appealing to hiring/HR managers?
This is so hard as it is beyond your control. Check out the TN categories. They are somewhat subjective and slightly flexible. Maybe you can throw yourself into some volunteer work to gain experience while growing your contacts and network. If possible, you could even focus your search a couple of steps into the future towards a TN category if any are a potential fit for you.
