Resume Over Coffee

I am starting to actively apply for open positions, and I'm wondering if the "role description" or "job description" portion of the job application should be different than what is included already on my resume.

Any help or feedback would be appreciated! Thank you, Jenny

This is my wheelhouse! if they're making you rewrite your resume in their boxes, then I am so sorry. Every careers site is an island these days. Super annoying for applicants. just put in the amount of effort that aligns with how important this app is to you. if you are remotely a fit, they will be looking at your resume anyway.

I'm not sure I clearly understand your question. It sounds like you're talking about something on a company's application you need to fill in detailing your work history in addition to uploading your resume. It should be consistent with what's on the resume but you may have more space to play with in a fill in the answer type format and can potentially go into more detail about your accomplishments. Not sure if you're still looking or not but good luck and if you need resume help, I have a free course you can take. It's makes resumes very simple and clear! https://www.michelemavi.com/p/the-revitalized-resume

If I understand your question correctly (and please let me know if you mean something different) - I would say that I try to align my resume as much as possible with things from the job description AND job requirements (if relevant of course). Using key words and phrases from the job posting in the resume is supposed to be helpful in navigating ATS, but hopefully someone here with more expertise can also comment.
