Need serious help

Hi all, I'm new here and thought I'd try it out for some help. I've started to apply for new jobs as I'm not comfortable with changes in my current company. I've worked for 4 years for a small laid back business. They've done an incredible job in figuring out my strengths and tailoring a position for me. I know I won't get that with a corporate company. Most of my experience looks like it's in sales but what I've really been doing is project management of each sale as well as customer service and growing relationships with current clients, all the behind the scenes things to keep an order on track and done correctly. I'm not a go get em business development, networking, hard sell type of woman. That isn't coming across in my resume and I need some help or suggestions on how to make those aspects shine through.

That's excellent to hear your company is assisting you with this career change. As you research key skills to highlight, I highly recommend searching for sales operations descriptions as well. Hope this helps!

Some great topics to research resumes or job descriptions for in order to come up with phrasing that might broaden your resume: Project management, program management, customer experience, customer administration I often joke that I don't know how I'm going to put my current job on my resume. I'm sure you will sell yourself perfectly!

I agree with Joanna, I would say to research project management resumes and key phrases and then tailor those to fit you personally do. This is also a good opportunity of a cover letter. If there is a job that you are really interested in but you think your resume doesn't properly portray your skills, spell out your difference in a cover letter.

Brava for being proactive in recognizing and honoring your feelings about those changes!! I recommend you copycat resumes/job descriptions from PM roles, If that's closer to what you are doing and what you want to do next, then a true lateral move for you would be that and not a sales role.
