Professional resume writing services, what do you think?
Hi Folks -
I've been struggling with the task of revising my resume, cover letter and LinkedIn profile in securing interviews. In early summer, enlisted the services of "professionals", however, these document drafts have not yielded no interviews. An air of desperation, I submitted the revised resume for free critiques from professionals & ATS . The ATS assessments revealed startling results: volunteer activities performed during a decade plus work gap counted as additional working years, wholly inaccurate, counterproductive to the job search.
Group members, have you enlisted services, i.e. top resume, let's eat grandma, monster, resume pundits etc. and what were the results?
From any HR professionals, your insight/input opinion on specific sites and advice on selecting the best one is welcome.
Thank you everyone for your attention and opinion.

Resume pros have their place. I think they are a one trick pony and very pricey. My workshops and coaching offer a "teach you how to fish" approach if you are interested in more than a one-time revision. I definitely agree with rose^ networking above all! Get out there and do it in a way that doesn't make you want to die. Pair it with other activities you like. You never know where that next connection will come from!
Networking is key. Start building your network organizations you are targeting. Use LinkedIn. Most jobs are filled through networking not blindly applying. Networking can get your resume into the right hands.
