I work as a contractor at a large tech company. I see perm roles that might be a good fit for my skills in different departments. However I am not sure if my current contract has any restrictions or noncompetes. What is the easiest way to find the specifics of my contract (without upsetting my current agency and current boss)? Should I talk to HR at the large tech company? How can I do so in a confidential manner?

talk to HR at the company where you are contracted. They usually have either a policy or can work something out if they hire you perm. The agency will get a placement fee or amount to make them whole for the mark up on the hours you would have billed to the company while still on contract.
