I just graduated!
I just graduated from Cleveland School of Cannabis - Columbus. This is only 1 of 2 schools in the United States that offers cannabis certifications. From my college days, I thought I knew all about cannabis - but I didn't....not even a little bit.
My interest was renewed when my parents were diagnosed with Alzheimer's and I found out there are studies on how cannabis can benefit Alzheimer patients. My mom forgets to eat and certain cultivars (edibles) could stimulate her appetite. Since she has no muscle and limited protein intake, she has trouble walking and falls often. Why can't my mom use something that can help her? My brother in law had GBM and everyone knows cannabis can help with cancer treatment symptoms. It's medicine.
But think about this, if cannabis doesn't have any medicinal benefits, then why does the US government have a cannabis patent? (patent number 6630507B1)
Do you know that cannabis is a Schedule I drug? that means our government finds no medicinal value in cannabis (but see patent?) and high potential for abuse. Cannabis is in the same category as heroin and LSD. The US government believes cannabis is more dangerous then cocaine, Oxycontin, and Fetanyl which are all Schedule II drugs.
Yes, it can be controversial but knowing the history of cannabis, you will see how monetary interests changed the perception of cannabis starting in the 30s.
My wish would be to move cannabis to another schedule level so research can be done and we can learn more about the cannabis plant and what it can do for us.
