How to find career coach

How do I find a career coach who can help me identify my next career step? I spent 15 years in corporate consumer goods marketing and the last 17 years in nonprofit at the same agency. I'm burnt out, uninspired by the mission, and am running out of patience with my Chief Development Officer who is horribly under-qualified but loves a good vision board! I don't think I want to continue in nonprofit but am considering higher education, city government, or corporate social responsibility. Something that gives me meaning and contributes to my community. Any thoughts? Also, what are the fees typically for a career coach? I am in Southern Calif.

Hello Anonymous, In addition to the excellent suggestions above by SaraB23 and Ebony Joyce, I would also direct you to Career Contessa's website. They have a section that lists career coaches who have expertise in a variety of areas. They are very transparent about their fees right on the Web-page. Check them out. All the best with finding your next career move!

I agree that leveraging sites like FGB and LinkedIn are a great option to finding a coach. LinkedIn has a ProFinder option where you clearly state what you are looking for and receive multiple proposals to choose from so you can find the right fit for you.

Hi! Sounds like your looking for a career that will help you gain clarity around your career. There are plenty of coaches here in FBG or consider using LinkedIn to conduct your search. As fair as the investment is consider that will vary on the length of the program, experience of the coach and others factors. Most coaches should offer a consultant to see if you’ll be a good fit for their program. Develop a few questions regarding what your looking for, time, and investment. I this an important decision so take your time to find a good fit. Good luck!
