Hello, I am new here and excited by all I see.
I have been in education for almost 30 years and it is time to get out. I have tried job hunting, but there is not much out there for an elementary teacher besides teaching positions. Any ideas? I am certified in all subjects, reading, and Spanish (not really fluent right now).
Take a look at post from Mattie.
Below. Job posting into tech sales. Maybe you could use tech sales in education software companies.
Hi Laurie.
I see a lot of teachers moving into technology. (Ed tech) You already have the business side. You can take a few courses on udemy or some sort of boot camp if you need to ramp up your tech skills.
I would look into start ups within education and maybe turn to the business side of education instead of educating. Example: A software company that enables remote education, and you are their new business development manager because you are a subject matter expert. Or a text book sales manager/product manager because you know the customer inside and out- you were the customer.
Should you decide to get out of education all together, even the industry, you could consider an entry level position in really anything! You have people skills, lesson planning, training skills, and much more. :)
Hi Laurie,
My sister is a teacher and is looking for another career. I suggested to her copywriting and content manager/editor because she likes to write. Since you have some experience with Spanish and speak English well, you could teach English to Spanish speakers.
