Starting a new job while WFH
As many firms continue working remotely, those starting new jobs face different pressures. Bonding with teammates and getting to know management styles can be challenging behind a screen, and big meetings are harder to navigate on a video call. Those who’ve experienced it have some tips: Scheduling individual catch-ups with colleagues makes it easier to get to know them; asking questions is a good thing; and making time for non-work conversation is important. Employers can help too, by setting up one-to-ones and offering online induction activities, or even a WFH treasure hunt.
