Hello all,
I just joined the group and have been wanting a new career for quite some time. I have always been one of those that have worked out of necessity like most of us but my jobs have been non-professional. I'm planning on going to college in the very near future but I'm having a hard time deciding on what major. By now, you would think that I knew exactly what I wanted to do, I don't. I have taken the MBTI multiple times and it has always shown me to be an INTP. I have an investigative personality, I like to research, problem solve, use logic in decision making.
Just curious if anybody in here has any advice on a career that focuses on those aspects. My perfect job would be if I wanted to travel somewhere in a camper van per se, I could just pack up my computer and hit the road. I am an introvert with extrovert tendencies.
Any ideas would be great. Thanks!!
I would work with a career coach and do some exploration before deciding on a major. I also highly recommend Ashley Stahl's Career Clarity Lab.
I'd also say that often times we know the answer, but we call it stupid, make excuses, etc. What is that little voice telling you that you haven't been listening to?
Hi Tonya,
Check out UX design and UX research. Business Analyst and Software Engineer may be good choices for you too.
Have you thought about cyber security. This is big and it is a field that isn't going to go away. Not sure of your interest so would have a bit of a time making a lot of suggestions. Analysis positions in Finance, Systems, or Business might be a good place to look?
