I'm working on shifting into editing.
My resume shows a ton of freelance editing work over the years but nothing continuous in that field. My resume is built amazingly (I had a resume specialist adjust it for me) so I'm not concerned about that. Does anyone have suggestions on the best way to get my foot in the door somewhere?
If you've done a lot of freelance editing, maybe reach out to former clients and see if their company needs someone full time. I work for a regional service center in education publishing. My title is project specialist and I do project management, but at it's heart it's mainly an editing job.
I would suggest going to a trade org meeting if possible and mingle. That could give you contacts.
