I am looking to switch to tech roles such as cloud computing.
Although, there are a few transferable skills, how do I position myself to get hired and learn on the job, even if I don't have all of the skills but willing to learn or get up skilled? Thanks in advance .
I was just recently laid off after 7years. I am a production artist. I wanted to move toward what is hot right now. I decided to go with Coursera for UX Design Certificate. They are affiliated with Google. Skillshare and Udemy are two others that are great! There is also, Linkedin Learning
There are great resources out there that can help you upskill or reskill for cheap/free. If you're wanting to work in cloud computing, step one is to do some sleuthing to find out what skills you need for the kind of roles you want. Step 2 is to look at the places people most commonly get those skills. Sites like Skillcrush, Skillshare, EdX, Udemy, Coursera, and more offer low cost programs to gain initial knowledge, and providers like General Assembly offer intensive bootcamps to really equip you with new tools. Hope this helps!
