HR to IT?
Hi Group! I have found myself downsized yet again...I want to figure out a way to transition to technology. I have twenty years experience in recruiting and HR. Spent seven years in the IT Industry. I love HR but want to transition into a career that has more stability. And one that I can do remotely (and gig to gig) from an RV in Canada in ten years. :o) Was thinking HRIS is the way to transition. (Workday is hot - but gotta find an employer that would sponsor and pay for it - expensive...) Or, learn a new programming language. Thoughts? Has anyone you know made this work? Am I crazy (like my fiancee thinks I am?) Thanks everyone! Stay healthy!
Technology is the way to go! I just started certifications in Salesforce and there are so many applications for it. I would suggest that to fit your personality I would look at your options and the number of current jobs that require that skill before embarking on learning something new. Also Remote.co might give you an idea of some remote titles out there. Everything is Data driven these days. DATA IS KING!
Good advice. Thank you Pressy!
No, you are NOT crazy! There are tons of remote programming jobs out there. Check out Women Who Code (https://www.womenwhocode.com/) - they help empower women in their technology careers (or to get started in one).
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
Thank you Lucia! I will check it out.
