After 20 years of working in this field, I know it is time to try a new career.
My diverse skills include teaching, online learning, project management, program development, and team management. My career field would be in learning and development teams, but I do not want to close myself off to other opportunities that I have not considered. My journey is just starting, and I am open to your advice.
Hi Patricia! Have you considered getting into sales engineering? I recently made the transition from HR to Sales Engineer and it's a really engaging and financially rewarding career. I think your experience would make you a good fit for it. I'd love to chat more if you're interested!
This post is right on time for me. I have been in Big Consulting/IT Professional Services for decades. A sistah is strong, but is also tired and considering a change. I love mentoring and hold a degree in Psychology, so for my next chapter, I am considering Graduate Studies and a career change. I appreciate all of the tips posted so far.
Right now, there are so many remote possibilities for people with your skills. I can see you in corporate training and onboarding. Let me know if we can help!
Cheers
Joanne

Exciting time for you! Just start applying and see which positions you get leads on. Track everything and use this data to show you what you need to do. Ie. If you’re not getting first interviews, then you need to focus on your resume; if you aren’t getting second interviews, just focus in your interviewing skills, etc.
good luck! There are a ton of L+D jobs out there, be sure to be on LinkedIn with a polished profile.
I am just here to tell you that Kar Global is hiring a Training Coordinator. This might be right up your alley.
Thank you for the referral.
Patricia,
You'll want a resume tailored to L&D, with separate resume(s) for other fields you may be interested in. Remember: you always want your resume to be as specific as it can be. As for what those other fields might be, I recommend working with a career coach.
I agree I need to find the right niche that suits me. Thank you for your feedback!
