"the far more common reaction from my male colleagues was to pull me aside for a quiet conversation about how they genuinely hoped it (the job share) would work out, and not just for the sake of the mothers in our profession.
" https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/mar/23/flexibility-at-work-isnt-just-about-women-men-want-more-from-family-life-tooThis is so encouraging to read. After seeing how many women left the workforce because of childcare duties this fall, I think having flexibility for all employees is a great way to progress toward gender equality in the workplace.
Isn’t it? It really is! I jobsharer for 9 years and it was amazing!! I worked 3 days, had 1 day just for me, and 3 days to fully engage with my family (no work emails ever — My partner had it!) Its a great solution for women now because they are actually able to advance in their careers together - over 70% are promoted as a team, they’re so productive. I’d live to invite you to join our newsletter to learn more: workmuse.com/newsletter

I love this; my husband & I have deliberately made career choices that allow us both to maximize time with our kids even though we both continue to work fulltime.
That’s awesome!! If you are interested in learning more about job sharing, I’d love to invite you to our newsletter workmuse.com/newsletter. Our online program is just about to launch too!
