Creating the Freelance Career

What's the most interesting job or work you've been paid to do?

Sometimes we get fun and unusual requests for work. When I was 24, I was hired by a judge to write copy for a singing leprechaun on a St. Patrick's Day card thanking her constituents for voting for her in a recent election. What's the strangest, funniest, or most interesting job you've been paid to do?

I was a food buyer for a TV show for 10-day shoot. The producer literally gave me $5K in cash for food. I asked the Target manager for three employees with carts to help with all the dry goods/staples, then drove the produce guys crazy at another high-end grocery store to find identical fruits for our camera shots. IDENTICAL FRUIT! They thought I was crazy, or had bad OCD, or both! It was exhausting, but really interesting and fun.
