"Kill Fee" Q & A
Hi everyone - wondered if you've added a "kill fee" to your freelance contract. If you're not familiar with it, a "kill fee" is added to ensure you get paid a portion of your project fee if it "dies". I'd love to hear your thoughts, plus if you have a link to a solid freelance contract template, I'd greatly appreciate it.

If you write for a publication that offers a kill fee, sometimes the language in the contract also has escape clauses to let the publication out of paying the kill fee.
