Experience & Certification

Several of our new members mentioned having years of experience, and considering whether it was worth getting a PMP certification. What do you think?

To start the conversation, I think experience is a good way to learn project management skills - especially if you have a good project management office or other project managers to learn from. One thing you can get from a formal or more structured program such as a PMP or other training is a wider view of the tools and methods available to support project management activities.
