Women in IT

Hey y’all, I was looking for some advice if anyone has an opinion.

I just started a job as an IT generalist and am being trained to work in infrastructure. We’re taking the A+ and Net+ in the next few months. I have an AWS Cloud Practitioner Certificate, but my background is not in IT. I just made a career switch. I have an MLS in Law Librarianship and Legal Informatics. My company has programs where they will help pay for continuing education and certifications. Do you think in the long run it would be a good idea to get a second masters in network management or cloud computing or should I just get other certifications? If so do you have recommendations on a good online masters program for network management/cloud computing or ideas of other certifications that would be helpful? Thank You

My advice (as someone who hires IT peeps) don't get a 2nd masters degree right now. I suggest leaning into certificates first. Once you have the certs you want, then look at a 2nd Masters, if your company will pay for it. Masters degrees are expensive so if you have to pay for it yourself, I would be really certain that having that 2nd Masters will pay off financially.
