Brand Yourself with Style

How do you brand yourself during WFH?

Curious to how you continue to brand yourself with style while you WFH because the attire requirements should not be the same.

My take on this is different. I absolutely do not wear office attire while I'm in a WFH status because my office attire is quite formal. My WFH attire allows me to walk my dogs at various intervals during the day, so it's v neck cotton t-shirts, and sometimes company t-shirts. During WFH, I'bve been wearing lip gloss and moisturizer on my face. Before COVID, when I went to the office, I had more make up on. I'm reconsidering that now. In my mind, at this time - my brand isn't so much about what I'm wearing. It's more about being consistently available / reachable + responsive, being engaged as well as engaging during e-meetings with the camera on, and staying connected to colleagues.

I second what Lynne said about personal style for those virtual meetings. I would add that you can specifically curate what people see behind you during those video meetings. For example, I work in the adult beverage industry, so I've made sure what people see behind me includes, but isn't limited to wine or spirits bottles. I've also made a point to set up in front of my piano and cookbook shelf. (Happens to work at that I'm sitting at my dining room table too!) Again, with what Lynne said, you can enhance your personal brand by how you communicate with people, by how you participate, and by using your social presence to further your style/brand.

As far as attire, some people do dress the same as in the office. And there are other ways to show your style. Color. The cut of clothes, i.e., the type of neckline. Jewelry. As far as branding yourself more broadly, you can do so with: Your profiles. Your posts. Your articles. Your "live" videos. Your comments, likes, shares of other people's posts. The way you show up (mentally, emotionally, physically) for in meetings, conferences, coffees, etc. The groups you choose. The groups you create.
