Ladies,
I would love to get your thoughts. I am in my mid 50's, and I am a Dir. of Marketing in an F500 company. Previously, I was a Global Head of Marketing for a digital agency. My current employer did not represent the role appropriately. As a result, I am working for a VP in his 30's who is trying to be groomed for a CEO role. He has no experience in the marketing field, and this is a placeholder role for him to learn the function.
Additionally, I transitioned from the digital space to industrial manufacturing. I am extraordinarily dissatisfied and under-utilized. I am considering investing in a staffing franchise. Many years ago, I had a very successful career in recruiting. I would love to get your thoughts on whether you think this is a good idea and any recommendations.
Thanks!
Hi Kristen, That sounds very uncomfortable and frustrating. I do hope that you can find some resolution in this and step back into that feeling of being the powerful and successful woman that it sounds like you are! I would suggest looking at exactly what feeling this is triggering in you and when you may have felt this way in the past (even in childhood). We tend to have uncomfortable patterns repeat for us to learn how to process old hurt and tap into our true deservingness and grow stronger by knowing we are capable of creating clear boundaries and sharing our truth. You got this girl!
if you are that dissatisfied, then start looking. I imagine that recruiting is having a bit of a renaissance, considering the number of open positions I'm seeing posted, but do your homework on the field of your interest first!
Got with your passion and gut, it will always lead you in the right direction.
Are you excited about the investing aspect much more than your current role?
