I am practicing growing my LinkedIn network by reaching out to people working in my department at companies I would love to work for. The is goal is 50 messages (and new connections) by the end of next week. I am personalizing them to each person asking a question pertaining to them specifically. It's difficult, but exhilarating.
I have received many positive responses and I just had an information interview with someone at one of those companies. This is not my forte, so I am surprised how much enjoyment I am getting out of this kind of networking, which I wanted to share if any of you aren't feeling that fearless.
As a group member, you are ready to learn how to lead, engage, and influence others into action. Making great strides in your profession never happens in a vacuum. It's a team effort that requires not just more knowledge, but a shift in behavior. This only happens within a supportive, accountability-based environment with the structure you need to succeed.
