Back pain?
Back pain.
Are you suffering?
Soooo many people have brought this up this week - lower back pain, tight, uncomfortable backs, necks and shoulders...
So here are my top tips:
*STAND UP - I don't like traditional chair. I am standing as I type this.
* MOVE & STRETCH WHILE STANDING - Right now I have one foot on a stool - my knee is dropped away from my midline (so the foot is on its outer side), so I stretch, move, bend the leg I'm standing on a bit, fiddle and feel my 'sitting area', hips, and more.
* RAISE YOUR LAPTOP - I've been asked 'how do you do it' when people see me via Zoom - I'm always standing - with my camera at eye level. Simple: stack boxes/ books and plonk your laptop on top.
* SET AN ALARM TO DO ARM WINDMILLS. Every 45 mins is ideal. Set a recurring alarm. Stop what you're doing when it goes off, wiggle, jump, wave your arms around, sing!
We're moving so much less. No more walking to the coffee machine/ meeting room/ canteen/ out for lunch/ to and from work.
Be kind to yourself. And stand, don't sit - make that your default.
