Menopause In The Workplace

HelloPause

Hi ladies - I have been struggling with perimenopause for awhile - it had quite an impact on my work and I ended up quitting my job. Fast forward 2 yrs: I'm feeling more like myself again (tho not completely) and now know quite a bit more about peri-menopause. Because I'm a filmmaker and an activist, my response to being caught off guard has been to start a web series talking to other women on this journey, in the hopes of breaking the taboo on this topic in our larger culture--and making help and information more readily accessible for everyone! I want to share the link to the first episode with you, because realizing so many women are going through this meant a lot to me. But also made me really angry at the lack of solutions. The ladies in the video are brave trailblazers because few women want to talk about this stuff on camera. But that’s what will get menopause out of the closet! Check out the video! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCf_bVtdJAGjtCWA2erZCf8g There's NO requirement or expectation associated with watching the series, but if it resonates with you, there's a funding campaign happening to finance more episodes--like "early onset," "peri+menopause at work" and "navigating the healthcare morass." I'm hoping to talk to women all over the country, from all walks of life, and be a part of breaking the silence for the next generation of women. If you'd like to be a part of the campaign, you can find the link here: https://bit.ly/2lI3BHy Please share the episode (and the campaign) with anyone you think might benefit from seeing it. HANG IN THERE--better days are ahead! Our third episode is specifically going to focus on menopause in the workplace.

Thank so much for sharing this, ElleDot! I am so excited that women are taking action to get menopause out of the shadows and into the main stream. I will get involved in your campaign. Big applause!
