How long?
How long has it taken you to recover from a burnout?
It totally depends on the person! It took me a few years to fully recover from my burnout about 5 years ago. The time period will be expedited if you are really able to give yourself the space to rest, heal, and recover.
It took me three years to recover from my own burnout journey but I think I could have healed faster if I had the right tools. I tried many things - acupuncture, elimination diet, supplements, energy healers. What helped the most was understanding what got me burnt out in the first place and then correcting those patterns. For me it was having a difficulty saying no (and therefore taking on way too much), having a need to be in control (and therefore feeling anxious and stressed ALL the time), and not resting / listening to my body (and therefore constantly feeling drained and exhausted).
Everyone's body and mindset patterns are different so it's hard to give a definite answer. I'm actually now a coach in this space and have some free resources on my website that help you to better manage your time and energy as well as set boundaries and say no to the things that don't serve you. Feel free to check them out if that's of interest to you (link below).

I'm also happy to give more specific guidance if you want to share what you're going through in more detail. Feel free to respond here or message me privately. I'm super passionate about this topic and always happy to help :)
For my own honestly it is a combo of both. I realize having a dragging and emotional draining job then you have the same thing at home isn't healthy .
It's different for everyone. I used a research based mindfulness program. It took me about a month of consistent practice to start to feel more like myself. Others noticed I was happier and energetic after about 4 months of consistent practice.
It depends on the main cause for the burn out and what your lifestyle has been like. Is it a lack of peace due to a poor fitting job or is it personal circumstances and the job leading to it?
I still am from Dec 2017 I think it depends on the environment, what you choose and support system.
