I'm feeling burned out on my job search right now and I swear it's like my brain power is mostly gone. I'm not remembering everything I think I should and I'm losing my motivation to do the things I want to do like studying new skills because it seems like it's not worth it. My husband says my memory is fine, but sometimes I wonder. I'm not depressed as I still get up, shower, and do other daily tasks -- it's just the job search part of my life.

Guilt. Guilt over considering leaving, guilt over stopping to take care of yourself--potentially bypassing requests from others.

Constantly feeling drained. Also, I'm a creative thinker and when I'm experiencing burnout, my creativity goes out the window.

Yes! I often call this out as a burnout symptom - even for people who aren't "traditionally" creative. Creativity can include how you solve problems, plan your day's logistics, communicate with others... and when we're fried, all of that can feel like you're having to wade through mud

We are in this together. Burnout is real and it can impact every single part of your life. The good news: This is your space to share, connect, learn and lean on other women who have been where you are and are ready, willing, and able to help you get where you want to be. It can feel lonely. If you are a director, manager, or team leader you can't talk to your peers at work for fear of being seen as weak. You can't talk with your boss or leadership board because you ...Read more
