How did/do you know you are experiencing burnout, share your symptoms, what happened and how?
If you have recovered, do tell how. I am writing an article and would like to include real information
Low Energy, Procrastination, taking longer to do things, not enough sleep....so many things.
I think generally it came/comes down to establishing boundaries, showing kindness to yourself, and finding confidence in knowing you're doing the best with what you have in the moment (letting go of the pressure to know and do everything).
I am happy to connect and send you any inform about my burnout and the stories of other women I share on my podcast Overcoming Working Mom Burnout. I also have lots of ideas about solutions!

Resentment, frustration and pure exhaustion.

To name a few.

I just felt unmotivated by my job, exhausted all the time, and stopped smiling much outside of work too. It affected all facets of my life, for sure.

absolutely.
Worked 20 years in the utility industry - nights, weekends, all hours responding to emails and 'emergencies'. New boss was a younger female - I was SO excited to work for her - and I could not seem to do anything right. After being a key performer, top ranked employee for 18 years, I left the company, taking a buyout.
I was able to not work for almost a year (while I also divorced, moved to another city, totalled my vehicle, got a kidney stone, and started a business). Now my business is heading upward, and I'm feeling a LITTLE ready to get back into work.
It's still hard, and I have to remind myself that work is just work. But it's been 18 years of training, and it's hard to let things go.
When I look back now, I can see that I was burned out for years. But new assignments at work helped me push through and not rest. The constant drive to do more, keep getting promoted, keep answering the emails pushed me to a place of sheer exhaustion.
To all those on the edge, I feel you. Try to disconnect more, and take care of yourself.
