Why is it so hard to unplug?

Hello Ladies, Hope you had a good weekend. Mu name is Ekua Cant and I'm Coach. I work with American Expat Women in London and Ambitious Career Women. This weekend I failed myself! I was like I am just going to shoot my video. That should have been the end of it. Then I was like let me up-load it to Youtube. Big mistake it's always hit and miss and then I get sucked into watching in up-load and tiring myself out. I do try to not work the weekends, but sometimes I just can't do it as I think It'll save me time. No Ladies, it didn't. I just got tired! Any tips on resisting working on the weekends?

I think software that locks the computer or email from my phone might be the only way. This may seem ridiculous but is a reality when access is so easy. I've been trying to separate my personal and work emails (personal use is allowed on my work email) because I find if I check my email for a personal reason I tend to switch right over to going through my work emails too. I also try to get out of the house, outside or other recreational activity where I am not around my computer or phone. This seems to help me forget about work. Good luck!

The good news: This is your space to share, connect, learn and lean on other women who have been where you are and are ready, willing, and able to help you get where you want to be. It can feel lonely. If you are a director, manager, or team leader you can't talk to your peers at work for fear of being seen as weak. You can't talk with your boss or leadership board because you ...Read more
