Advice on expanding the team

I’m an in-house designer at a small company and it feels like it is time to add another designer to the team. Any advice on how to go about asking management about this?

Have you created a possible job description and how long each task would take / value added to demonstrate the need?

What about asking for an intern position? It can provide you with additional help and give an opportunity for someone looking to gain experience. If intern is not an option, you will need to quantify the need and show how it till will benefit the business ROI.

That is a great idea, Lisa! An intern would be a good stepping stone to expanding. I’m mostly on the creative side of things—do you have tips for demonstrating ROI?
