What's next?

Hey ladies! I am an experienced Business Development Director in downtown Philadelphia. My company got acquired and due to redundancy I was laid off. I'm looking for a new Business Development role and I am open to different industries. Previously I worked for full service marketing agencies and even manufacturing. Job hunting can be a tough process. If you can provide any opportunities or connect me with someone who may have a role (or even someone that would like to chat BD), that would be most appreciated. Let's help each other grow!

Did you connect with your clients when you left? I was in sales for years and the best place to find a new job was always the clients I was selling at my old job. They know how successful you are, understand your style and many times they are looking for smart and strategic people to grow their business.

Have you considered consulting? In my Project Management podcasts I am hearing more and more about how BD is an important process of project development.

I don’t have any leads for you, but consider architecture and construction. Business development people are always needed in this industry, you don’t need to know the tech stuff to sell the projects!

About this group

We went to college in the 90s, started our careers when cell phones were a luxury that came with a shoulder bag and fax machines were the newest tech. Here we are now, in what should be the best years of our career facing an ever changing work culture that sees established Boomers still running the show with Millennials expecting to be the next leaders. Meanwhile we just want to take a vacation, make sure the kids get to soccer practice and fund our 401k.
