I can do this!
But the self doubt is creeping in. Studying for the CPA exam at 56 because I need to work for quite some time. I am not even close to retiring after being a stay home mom for so many years, and now divorced. I just need a little encouragement because sometimes I feel like it is too much.
you can and will do it! You are young and as long as you have experience and enthusiasm to work, then there are no issues.
Gr8! bold decision. Keep going. Age is just a number. Maintain good health & be positive. You will crack it if you are determined. Dont bother about things which no longer matter. They are gone & over. Look forward to a beautiful & successful life. STAY HAPPY.
Keep saying "I can do this"!!! Just because you are in your 50s doesn't mean you aren't viable, trainable and adaptable. Gen Xers are extremely resilient.
Thank you for this. Today was rough. I am in a horrible job right now and it is very hard to keep my chin up at times.
I know not too long ago, project accountants paid a good salary. Always in demand. You could draw a good salary while doing the CPA exam, and if needing a retake, at least you have a back up job with all the education. I'm so happy for you. "Chin Up"! :)
You can do this! You have so much more reason for motivation than a younger person. You have life experience and are mature. You'll be a great asset to any company!
If your good, your good, Passing CFP first time no matter what age is an accomplishment. Then you’re smarter & better than you think you are, and if you don’t, try again just like others however if you’re looking for a job of income …… you don’t need to be a CFP to be a bookkeeper and there are plenty of opportunities in that field while you keep on studying.
You got this!!!!
You've got this! Having the doubt creep in is normal - remind yourself how far you've come. Remind yourself that you're actively taking steps toward this goal.
You got this!!!!
You can do it! Just work the problems in your study guide. Do them over and over and over. As my college advisor once told me, “There are only so many questions they can ask.” You’ll be surprised how many of the same questions show up on the exam.
