Curious to know: what's the most important change you've made in your career and why?
I started my communications/PR own agency after just a few years working in high tech. It was risky but it was the right time for me because I was not yet a mom with responsibilities that come with that. I started and stayed super busy thanks to lots of great contacts in my network, and once we did have kids, I never missed a performance, game, or field trip. I got the best of both worlds as a self-employed mom.
I love this! It definitely sounds like the risk was worth it :)
My big change technically happened just before I started my career...I studied Marketing and Management and felt utterly stuck when searching for jobs - none of the roles were interesting to me. My passion is graphic design and decided after a few months of job searching to go to design school and pursue it as a career. I LOVE and feel inspired by my job everyday. And I feel lucky that I recognized and took action on my want for change so early! :)
