Hi everyone, I recently got hired at a consulting company as a UX Designer.
My original start date was Jan 31, but they have asked to push it back to March 7 due to project timing constraints. What do I do in this situation?
There's nothing you can do unless you want to resume your job search and try and get another offer. Then you could revoke your acceptance of their offer.
I see, thank you for the input. In the meantime I am looking for new jobs and seeing where things may take me.
Do you have a commitment that March 7 is a firm onboarding date?
I just received an email that they can indeed confirm my start date will be March 7. They also said all other new hires had to be pushed to this start date as well.
That's great. Did they explain the delayed onboarding?
They did! It was due to project timing constraints.

can you get a temp job until then?
I've applied to Toptal for freelancing, but that's all at the moment. I have been applying for jobs again as well. I thankfully live at home so I don't have very high expenses, but I'm just not sure how to communicate with this company now and even have a guarantee that I will have this job my March 7.
